to advanced private study.
Our Approach
At Ascend Piano Studio, students begin in the setting that best supports their age,
readiness, and stage of development. Most students build their foundation first in group-based learning, where they strengthen rhythm, reading, listening, and confidence in a highly engaging environment. As students mature and demonstrate readiness, they may progress
into more advanced study and, eventually, individualized private instruction.

Programs Overview
Semi-Private Lessons
Ages 5–6 | Group-format beginner instruction | Available during regular school hours by special request only
A warm and structured introduction to piano for young beginners. Semi-Private Lessons are designed for siblings or family-arranged pairs who are just getting started and benefit from a calm, encouraging first experience at the piano.
Best for: young beginners who are new to music and learn well with a familiar partner
Presto
Ages 7–12 | Group piano + complete musicianship
Presto is a dynamic group piano program for beginner students who are ready to build real musical skills in an engaging, high-energy setting. Students develop piano technique, reading, ear training, rhythm, theory, and musicianship in a structured small-group class.
Best for: beginners ages 7–12 who need a strong and comprehensive musical foundation.
Prestissimo
Ages 9–13 | Group piano study
Prestissimo is the next stage for students who are ready to move beyond beginner-level work and grow into stronger reading, technique, musical understanding, and performance skills. This program is designed to help students bridge from foundational piano study into more advanced and independent musicianship.
Best for: students who have completed foundational study and are ready for the next level of group instruction.
Classic Studies
Ages 13+ | Intermediate study | Group piano program
Ascend Classic Studies is designed for students continuing beyond
early piano foundations into more developed musicianship, repertoire, and musical maturity.
This program supports students as they build stronger independence, artistry, and long-term musical skill within a guided group setting.
Best for: students ready for deeper study after Prestissimo or equivalent placement.
Private Lessons
Private Lessons
Ages 14+ / placement-based | One-on-one instruction
Private Lessons provide individualized instruction for students who are ready for focused, advanced study.
This program is best for students who have built strong foundations and are prepared for deeper personal accountability, musical refinement, and long-term growth.
Best for: advancing students, qualified transfer students, and those ready for individualized instruction.
Virtual Lessons: Private lessons may also be available online when in-studio instruction is not possible or when situations require additional flexibility.
